Refugees

I had to laugh when Brother Kimball came into primary portraying Samuel the Lamanite.  Brother Kimball is the best!

Stockton and Jorja both got their temple recommends renewed after church.  We then came home and packed things up.  For Christmas our ward wanted families to sponsor a refugee family.  They had lists of families and things they needed.  Three families could sign up for each one.  We signed up with the Richs and the Andersons.  Too bad Sister Rich found out she had breast cancer days after signing up.  They still managed to collect several things and dropped them off at the Andersons.  Brother Anderson had a laptop that he didn't need anymore.  It ran really slow.  Mike spent a lot of time Saturday fixing it up.  Beds were also on the list.  We gave a set of cabin bunk beds that Glade made.  We had been saving them for Matt and Sam.  They were planning on using them, but said it would be okay to give them to the refugees.  That was nice.  I went and got new bedding and pillows for them yesterday.  Anyways, Brother Anderson has a truck and he loaded the bunked in that.  We followed them down to Salt Lake to drop the stuff off.  We had an address, but no other way to contact them to see if they were home.  Luckily the mom was home.  She has four little boys. The littlest one is one month old.  Her husband was at work when she got there.  She asked us if we could put things into the garage.  I think she was nervous having strangers just show up.  We set up the bunkbed in the garage so they could see how it fit together.  It looked like a lot of people have been dropping stuff off to them.  I'm glad so many people are willing to help.

I am glad we were able to finish that project today.  Christmas time gets so hectic.  It is nice to have one thing off of our plate.
