Gingerbread Village

We had a crazy busy day today!  Fun, but busy.  Mike and Stockton worked more on Stockton's Eagle Project.  They had flyers to print out and things like that.  Stockton and I went to church early so we could put the flyer about his project in the church bulletin.  We then went and talked to President Back and asked him to announce his project in Priesthood.  We had a separate flyer for that.  There were two other boys putting in flyers at the same time.  One from another ward, we helped each other stuff them.  Jordan handed his out to everyone.  That cooking merit badge is a serious motivator!

Stockton wasn't able to go to his class and talk about his project because we went to Aimee's mission homecoming.  Her talk was exactly the same time as he needed to give his announcement.  Good thing President Back did it for us.  Aimee did a great job and it was so wonderful to see her!  We all went to Nathan and Lisa's house after and had authentic Spanish food.  Our family left a bit early to get the last of the Gingerbread preparations done.  We ended up decorating the houses in waves.  It was the best plan we could come up with.  Today was the only day that everyone could make it.  We wanted to decorate the houses after Aimee came home from her mission, but before we left on our trip.  It was so nice of Aimee to be willing to share her homecoming day with the gingerbread.

Mike and I had 28 houses ready to decorate.  We had sticky notes on them saying things like: sugar cookie, chocolate chip, chocolate chip and sugar cookie, gingerbread.  You get the idea.  Preston wanted his house made out of every different kind of cookie.

Michael brought his friend over.  Because I am super late getting this entry together, I can't remember the name of his friend.  I asked my family, but they can't remember either.  Maysen said, "I know his name isn't Shawn."  So, that is what I have to go with.

I tried to get a picture of everyone with their house before they left.  I wasn't able to catch Taylor, Brandon, Jacob and Weston.  Boo!  Steve didn't make one.  I love pictures of the completed gingerbread houses. If I were under control, it would be cool to have a collection of the houses over the years.  But, I am far from under control.  Would be fun though.

The kids were not happy to see Aimee.  She is absolutely no fun at all!

Preston, look at me!  Open your eyes!
Nope, she is no fun.  Positively boring.

Welcome home Aimee!  So glad you are back!
Instead of cleaning up the gigantic gingerbread mess, we decided to move the girls' beds back into their room.  We knew we wouldn't have another chance because our week is going to be crazy!  The girls are anxious to sleep under the stars.  The room looks so good with their beds in them!  I will post pictures of that tomorrow, I think I have enough pictures on the entry today.
