Trash Can

Today was our last day at Bear Lake.  We packed up, cleaned up and were ready to head out when Mike asked me where the keys were.  I had taken Shannon to the store our first morning here.  I thought I put them on the counter, but they were nowhere in sight.  We looked everywhere! In the couch cushions, the beds, we even pulled out the fridge and stove. No luck.  I went and checked the lost and found, not there either. Finally we had everything out on the balcony and we turned in our keys. We decided to go through all of our suitcases and the garbage. We started with the garbage.  Mike and I put all of the garbage in a different bag handful by handful.  There they were.  At the bottom of the garbage can!  Thank goodness we didn't throw the garbage away!  We looked for those keys for two hours!  After saying a thank-you prayer we were finally on our way!

I was having a severe case of deja vu during this entire ordeal.  Mike and I were planning on going to the temple tonight.  Friends from Georgia were going to be there.  Tracey and Janet.  Josh (Janet's son) was going through the temple for the first time with his wife.  They invited us and I was so excited!  I was so worried we were going to miss it.  (Our back-up plan was Mike would go on the 3 hour car ride home with his brother, pick up the keys and come back to get us.  I was not excited about this plan.  Thank goodness we didn't need to resort to that!)  Anyway, what this reminded me of was Heath's wedding.  Mike and I had been married for a little over a year when Heath invited us to his wedding in the temple.  I was so excited.  I had been having a really hard time.  My mom had died several months before and I had just had a miscarriage.  Heath's wedding was something I was really looking forward to.  When Mike and I went out to the car on the day of the wedding we found our front window shattered.  Someone broke our window, reached in our car and popped the trunk, took out our cooling fans and tossed them in the snow and stole our radiator!  I couldn't believe it!  We missed the wedding and I was devastated.  The next day at church my bishop asked to see me.  He was checking up on me to see how I was doing.  I broke down sobbing.  I told him I was afraid to look forward to things anymore.  My brother was coming home from his mission in a month and I was so afraid that the plane would crash because I wanted to see him so badly.  I know that is crazy, but that is where I was then.  My sweet bishop didn't make me feel like an idiot, he just looked at me and asked me if I wanted a blessing.  Anyway, I'm SO glad we were able to make it to the temple this time!  And I'm so glad Brett's plane didn't crash!

Okay, enough blah, blah, blah . . . now I have a ton more pictures from yesterday.
