Aqua Stadium

The signs in our lobby keep changing.  Yesterday it said Typhoon Condition 3.  This morning it said Typhoon Condition 2.  Hmmmm.  Is that better or worse?  We asked.  It is worse.  I guess it means it is closer.  Well, who's to let a little typhoon stop us when we're in Japan? Look how beautiful it is outside!

We were surprised to see Tucano's here.
This morning we started out in the electronics district.  Lots of stores. Mike wishes they were by our house.  Many things he would want, but too many to pick one!

We then went to the kitchen district.  How did we know it was the kitchen district?  I'll let you guess!
Just have to say, the kitchen district was awesome!  I could have spent a long time there!  Besides cool gadgets for any situation, they had awesome pottery (I was so tempted!) and fun pretend food.  If my kids played with their kitchen on a regular basis I would have been tempted to get them fun stuff!

How can you not like a restaurant called the Sugar Butter Tree?
After a long day of shopping we went to the Epson Aqua Stadium.  It was just starting to rain, so this was a perfect thing to do.  The aquarium exceeded our expectations!  We walked in and saw the merry-go-round.  Marie was in heaven!

Maysen eating milk ice-cream.  Seriously, that was the flavor.
She said it satisfied her craving for milk and ice-cream.

I took a lot of pictures of Maysen at the aquarium.  Although these pictures look the same, there are different fish swimming in the background.  I couldn't pick my favorite, so I added them all!

The aquarium had a dolphin show.  Again, we weren't expecting much, but it was awesome!  I loved it!  Mike and Maysen sat in the splash zone.  The rest of us did not.

At first, Mike and Maysen were clever and pulled their umbrellas out for the splashing.  Then they were told they couldn't do that anymore.  I wish I could have gotten a cool picture of them, it was so funny!

After the show, Mike, Maysen and I were walking through the tunnel of the aquarium.  Someone came through and was asking everyone to move to the side.  Of course, we couldn't understand and had no idea what was going on.  Then, around the corner came a trainer with a sea lion.  It was so funny!  He put on a little show right there in front of us! It was so cool!

We stayed for the sea lion show.  It was fun.  Maysen loved both of the shows.

When we came outside, it was POURING!  We got drenched getting to the subway.  Then we had to walk a couple of blocks back to the hotel. There was so much rain!  Mike was funny and was dancing on the way back - without an umbrella!  He said he was glad he got drenched by the dolphins.  He would have been annoyed if he worked hard to stay dry and then ended up getting soaked on the walk home!  When we finally made it back, the sign had changed to Typhoon Condition 1.  Well, we made it back safe and sound and had a great day to boot!
