Sister Valentine

Our bishop's wife did a fireside for Young Womens yesterday.  She is a forensic nurse.  She did a great job.  She said that the population group that she mainly works with is 11-18.  Yikes.  She talked a lot about risk factors and how to stay away from them.  She said, "You might think I'm overreacting, but what I'm telling you is it is not worth the risk." Sister Valentine started off the fireside by talking about health in general.  She said that todays generation are more at risk with hearing loss then ever before.  Many might need hearing aids in their 30s.  That is when Maysen leaned over and said, "But if you needed a hearing aide, you can always turn it off when people are bothering you."  Way to look on the bright side Maysen.  Also, when Sister Valentine was making a point about how important it is to choose your friends wisely, Maysen said, "Another reason not to have friends."  She cracks me up.  Anyway, I am thankful to Sister Valentine for being willing to do this.  It's not an easy subject, but she was fantastic and because of her job she had immense credibility.  She said she is trying to talk to as many youth as possible, she fills like it is her mission.  Well done.
